Fred W. Prassas Scholarship
Purpose
The purpose of the Fred W. Prassas Scholarship program is to provide worthy individuals who are financially incapable to attend IREM’s courses offered through IREM Milwaukee Chapter 13.
Administration and authority to confer
The administration of this program is conducted by the Executive Committee of IREM Milwaukee Chapter #13, which has complete and final authority to confer or revoke scholarships, make other decisions pertaining to the use of funds in the scholarship program, and determine the specific courses recipients shall attend under the program. Two Scholarships are available for each course offered by IREM Milwaukee Chapter #13. Applications are evaluated and scholarships are awarded a minimum of fifteen (15) days prior to the course selected.
Eligibility
To be eligible for the Fred W. Prassas Scholarship, IREM Milwaukee Chapter #13 Education Committee must nominate individual(s) to the Executive Committee, who meets all of the criteria below.
• Be a citizen of the United States or Canada.
• Be of legal age in the state or providence in which the nominee resides.
• Be actively employed, or desire a position in the real estate management industry.
• Complete the official application form, and submit the following:
- A personal letter from the nominee, which clearly states the nominee’s career objectives and how the scholarship will help them to reach their goals. The nominee should mention any significant professional achievement or awards they have received.
Selection Criteria
Nominees will be reviewed according to the following criteria.
• Commitment to professional excellence as demonstrated by accomplishments in the real estate community or prior course work through IREM or any other college offering real estate courses.
• Financial need. The nominee must not receive any educational assistance from their employer or any other source.
• Strength of IREM chapter recommendation.
• Personal commitment to gaining either the CPM® designation or ARM® certification.
Stipulations
The intent of this scholarship is to cover course expenses associated with earning a CPM® designation or ARM® certification. Two (2) scholarships will be available for each course held locally by IREM Milwaukee Chapter #13. The scholarship will cover the cost of the IREM course selected, and sponsored
locally by Milwaukee Chapter # 13. The recipients of the Fred W. Prassas Scholarship will be required to use the scholarship for only the course applied for. If this stipulation is not met, the funds will be forfeited and returned to the scholarship fund. The recipient must pass all previous courses in order to be eligible to receive future scholarships. The recipient agrees that IREM Milwaukee Chapter #13 has the right to publicize the awarding of the scholarship(s).
Application Deadline
The completed application and any other required materials must be complete at the time of submission. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. The applicant will be notified by e-mail or phone of the Executive Committees decision.
*Any ARM or CPM courses offered by IREM Milwaukee or IREM Madison are eligible for Scholarship reimbursement

The scholarship is awarded on the basis of financial need and professional or educational accomplishment. It is important that you fill out the form completely and accurately. Any information found to be inaccurate will disqualify the applicant from consideration. Applications will be held is strict confidence.
